One of the questions Aiden asked when interviewing Grandpa was if he had ever saved anyone. His answer was, "No, I was just very careful. I didn't want to be a hero, I just wanted to have the chance to be old." Thanks again to Aunt Sue, we were able to get a couple pictures of his medals. "Modest Hero", once again, is the perfect description.

For all the stories Papa had always told, I never knew about any of the medals. Who knew that any of us Roses were modest?
